Our state-of-the-art Spiral CT gives more details on possible cancerous growths in any organ or for testing in cases of head injuries, abdominal illnesses as well as chronic back problems. Our Spiral CT has an advanced software that obtains three-dimensional images for a more detailed study (bone fractures in patients with severe trauma). Unlike conventional CT scans, our Spiral CT allows for faster movement through the process thereby, reducing radiation for the patient. Our mammogram equipment provides comfortable and customized screening for breast cancer. We have recently added an additional feature, the X-Ray Guided Mammographic Breast Biopsy, which is used to conduct a biopsy after having done a mammogram that has detected an unknown abnormality.  
Here at Belize Medical Associates expectant mothers also have the opportunity to view their baby’s movements and see their baby’s features before being born through our 4D Ultrasound. The ultrasound can also determine abnormalities of the baby all while inside the womb. Our Radiology Department continues to offer Belizeans and visitors professional x-ray services. Conventional x-rays such as those for the Head, Thorax, Abdomen, Pelvis, Spine and Extremities as well as special x-rays such as contrasted studies of the Genito-Urinary and Gastrointestinal Tract are all available at Belize Medical Associates. Color Flow Doppler Ultrasound makes it possible for a better evaluation of tumors. Our doppler ultrasound strongly complements obstetric studies and is essential for the evaluation of vascular structures and blood flow within the body (Testicles, Breasts, Thyroid, Neck, Carotid Arteries & Deep Veins, Pelvic, Upper Abdominal, Transvaginal and Transfrontanelar imaging).
For concerns about Osteoporosis, the Radiology Department here at Belize Medical Associates also offers a bone mineral density test, which detects how fragile or not bones are – especially as we are aging.
