Belize Medical Associates

In October 2007, Doctors Zoila Samuels, Miguel Palmero and Natalia Castillo of the Belize Medical Associates NHI Southside Clinic attended a Basic Life Support training session facilitated by the American Heart Association/BERT.  A team of medical professionals from the association conducted the training.  This training provided a review of basic emergency management.  One Such basic management include administering CPR outside of a hospital setting where no drugs can be used.

In addition, Doctors Miguel Palmero and Natalia Castillo participated in the Advance Cardiovascular Life Support training session also facilitated by the American Heart Association/BERT in November, 2007.  
This training included updates in advance cardiovascular emergency treatment and management done in a hospital setting using medications.  This has strengthened the knowledge and practice of both these general physicians to better service their clients.
 
This training was also conducted by a team of medical professionals from the American Heart Association at the Belize Institute of Management (BIM) and the Conference Room at the KHMH.
