The BMA Laboratory conducted its first (CME) Quality Assurance workshop on Saturday, July 14th, 2007. The topic of discussion was “Phlebotomist—The Public Relations Persons”. The stated objective is “To continue to develop and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS) of the BMA Laboratory in an effort to deliver the highest quality service possible to our clients and physicians.”
The workshop involved team building exercises, fostering improved inter-personal relations between laboratory personnel. There was review and discussion of literature concerning meeting and greeting a client before executing the technical aspects of phlebotomy. This is to have the client feel welcome and want to choose our facility on another occasion— after all, we are in the service industry! Body language, appearance and presentation were other aspects of the discussion. A review of the phlebotomy process was done, highlighting the critical aspects like, identification, preparation, specimen collection and handling. This was followed by a role-play, “phlebotomy situation’ after which criticizisms and comments were given. The session wrapped up with written feedback from participants. The session was attended by all laboratory personnel and facilitated by Mr. Jamie Mckoy, the Quality Assurance Officer for BMA lab. |

Dear Dr. Cawich,
Allegra and I cannot begin to thank you for all the special care you afforded her during her brief stay at Belize Medical Associates.
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
On December 23rd, 2010 our wife/mother unfortunately got very sick on our Caribbean dream–trip.
Dear Friends, I would like to sincerely thank the entire staff of Belize Medical Associates Hospital for taking such a good care of me during my recent stay.
Hi Dr. Gough, You saved our mom and we will be forever greatful for that. My mom said that she would one day like to come to Belize to see you in person and to also give her thanks and gratitude!
Dr. Cawich, Almost a year has passed since I was treated by you at your hospital in Belize. At the time I was on the Carnival Cruise Ship Glory and sent to your hospital with pneumonia.
Dear Dr. Musa and Staff,
THANK YOU!!!
Dear Staff, I am writing to express my heartfelt thanks for all the quality expertise and service received while in critical care at the Belize Medical Associates in May 2009.
Greetings Dr. Cuellar, On Monday I saw my regular doctor, she was very impressed with my care in Belize. I was told that I was okay and do not have to come back. |
